Skipper Shubman Gill led the chase with 80, while Axar Patel remained unbeaten on 57 and Washington Sundar scored an unbeaten 52 to help India chase down 259 in 45.2 overs. Earlier, Joe Root and Liam Dawson struck fifties as England posted 258 all out.

England Recover After Early Collapse to Post 258

Opting to bat first, England recovered from early setbacks to score 258 all out in 47.5 overs.

Former captain Joe Root remained not out on 76, while Liam Dawson scored 68.

The pair added 121 runs for the seventh wicket, helping England recover from 107/6.

Axar Patel Takes Four Wickets

For India, Axar Patel delivered an impressive bowling performance, taking 4 wickets for 62 runs.

Pacers:

  • Prasidh Krishna took 2 wickets for 50 runs.
  • Gurnoor Brar claimed 2 wickets.

Shubman Gill Leads India’s Chase

Chasing 259, India reached 262/4 in 45.2 overs to register a six-wicket victory.

Captain Shubman Gill top-scored with 80 before retiring hurt. His innings included:

Axar Patel remained unbeaten on 57, while Washington Sundar stayed not out on 52.

Shreyas Iyer also contributed 35 runs.
