Heavy rainfall continues to batter Hyderabad, causing waterlogging in several parts of the city, while the India Meteorological Department (IMD) has warned that the wet spell is likely to continue for the next two days.

The weather department has issued an Orange Alert for Hyderabad, Medchal-Malkajgiri, and Rangareddy districts, forecasting moderate to heavy rainfall, particularly during the evening hours.
In view of the prevailing weather conditions, HYDRAA officials have issued a special alert based on monsoon, disaster management, and static risk themes, and are closely monitoring the situation across the city.
To tackle waterlogging, authorities have deployed high-capacity pumps at vulnerable locations to prevent the accumulation of rainwater. Special attention is being given to key IT corridor areas, including Raidurgam, Biodiversity Junction, and IKEA Junction, where traffic congestion and flooding are common during heavy rains.
Meanwhile, Hussain Sagar Lake has reached near-full capacity following a large inflow of floodwater from upstream areas. Significant volumes of water are entering the lake through the Kukatpally, Balkapur, and Picket nalas.
The Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) has advised residents, particularly those living in low-lying areas, to remain alert and follow official advisories as heavy rainfall is expected to persist.
