GHMC workers threaten strike

They alleged that neither the corporation authorities nor the State government took any steps for solving the problems of the workers, who suffered due to cuts in their salaries.

Hyderabad: The workers’ unions of GHMC today warned the authorities of the corporation that they would go on strike if their demands were not met. They demanded that the authorities fulfill their demands immediately.

They alleged that neither the corporation authorities nor the State government took any steps for solving the problems of the workers, who suffered due to cuts in their salaries.

They asked the authorities as to why they were being harassed despite discharging their duties properly. They raised slogans against the State government and the corporation authorities. The activists gave a call to hold Chalo Pragathi Bhavan program.

The civic workers alleged that Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao did not regularise their services and added that the CM removed the existing employees. They said biometric machines were introduced by spending ₹90 lakh and termed it as a scam.

The workers also demanded that the corporation cancel its agreement with Ramki Company besides releasing pending DA bills.
