Visakhapatnam: In a shocking murder case reported from Andhra Pradesh’s Chittoor district, a young man was allegedly killed as part of a pre-planned conspiracy after being taken on the pretext of visiting a temple during the Amavasya occasion. Police have arrested the victim’s wife, her alleged lover, and two other accused in connection with the crime.
According to police, the victim, 23-year-old Ramesh, was a resident of Krishnagiri district in Tamil Nadu and had married 19-year-old Hasni nearly two years ago. The couple had a young daughter, and Ramesh was employed at a private company in Hosur.
Investigators said that Hasni had allegedly maintained a relationship with her childhood friend, 20-year-old Yogandhar, even after her marriage. Police allege that the two conspired to murder Ramesh.
According to the investigation, Hasni persuaded her husband to visit the Sri Malleshwara Swamy Temple on the occasion of Amavasya. During the journey, she allegedly shared her live location with Yogandhar through her mobile phone, allowing him to track their movements.

Police said that at a bend along the hill route, Hasni intentionally dropped her bag, prompting Ramesh to stop the motorcycle. At that moment, Yogandhar and his associates allegedly arrived at the spot, chased Ramesh into a nearby forest area, and attacked him with sharp weapons, resulting in his death. Reports indicate that the couple’s young daughter was nearby when the incident took place.
The case came to light after Hasni and her daughter failed to return home, prompting Hasni’s mother to lodge a missing complaint with the police.
During the investigation, police used CCTV footage, mobile phone records, location data, and other technical evidence to unravel the alleged conspiracy within hours. CCTV footage reportedly showed Ramesh travelling to the temple with his wife, while later footage captured Hasni leaving the area on the same motorcycle with two other individuals.
Police have arrested Hasni, her alleged lover Yogandhar, and two other accused in connection with the murder. Authorities are also investigating whether Hasni was a minor at the time of her marriage. If confirmed, additional action may be initiated under laws relating to child marriage.
Further investigation into the case is underway.
