Hyderabad: Cyber Crime Sleuths in Cyberabad have apprehended two individuals involved in a job fraud scam.

Police seized a laptop, three mobile phones, an SBI Bank passbook, and Rs 25,000 in cash from their possession.

The accused, Mutchu Siva Prasad (32) of Maddipadu, Ongole, Prakasam district, Andhra Pradesh, and Battagiri Ranga Pardhudu (26) of Thurimella village in Prakasam district, Andhra Pradesh, were arrested based on a complaint.

Another accused, Dhan Raju, remains absconding in the case, a police statement said on Saturday.

The fraud scheme targeted innocent victims through deceptive promises of job opportunities at WNS Global Services.

The complainant, lured by a phone call and fake interview, suffered a significant financial loss by transferring money to the fraudsters’ bank account.

The modus operandi involved the accused, including one with a past employment history at Accenture, Infosys, and Innominds, conspiring to exploit unemployed individuals.

They posted fraudulent job openings on social media, conducted fake interviews, and sent counterfeit offer letters to victims.

Subsequently, the victims were coerced into transferring substantial amounts to the fraudsters’ accounts, who then evaded further communication.

The Cyber Crime Sleuths advise caution and encourage the public to verify job opportunities through official channels to avoid falling prey to such scams. Victims or those with information are urged to contact the authorities for appropriate action.
