Hyderabad, a city in the state of Telangana, India, is making significant progress in expanding its metro network. The Hyderabad Airport Metro Limited (HAML) has recently chosen consulting agencies to prepare Detailed Project Reports (DPRs) for phase-III. NVS Reddy, the Managing Director of HAML, made this announcement in line with Chief Minister K. Chandrashekhar Rao’s directives.
Following a competitive bidding process, four consulting agencies, namely Aarvee Associates, Systra, UMTC, and RITES, were selected based on their technical qualifications and financial bids. Aarvee Associates secured the highest technical score and was awarded two packages, while Systra received the other two packages.
These selected agencies are now tasked with creating Preliminary Project Reports (PPRs) within two months, involving tasks such as traffic surveys, travel demand forecasting, and recommending suitable modes of public transport. Subsequently, they have three months to prepare comprehensive DPRs, covering various aspects of the metro expansion project.
NVS Reddy stressed the importance of simultaneous field surveys across all designated corridors as per the Chief Minister’s instructions. This marks a significant step forward in the expansion of the Hyderabad Metro network.
