Jeddah-Hyderabad flight diverted to Karachi due to medical emergency: Passenger Declared Dead on Arrival
In a dramatic turn of events, an IndiGo Airline flight destined for Hyderabad from Jeddah was forced to make an emergency landing at Jinnah International Airport in Karachi. The cause behind this unexpected diversion was a medical emergency that unfolded on board on Thursday.
Flight 6E 68 faced a critical situation as a passenger required immediate medical attention. The airline promptly decided to divert the flight to Karachi, where medical professionals were on standby to assist upon landing. Despite their swift response, the unfortunate outcome was the declaration of the passenger’s death upon arrival.
IndiGo, in an official statement, confirmed the incident and outlined the sequence of events. “The captain took the decision to divert the flight to Karachi due to a medical emergency on board. Upon landing, a doctor attended to the passenger; however, despite all efforts, the passenger did not survive and was declared dead on arrival,” the statement read.
Following necessary formalities in Karachi, the flight later resumed its journey to Hyderabad. IndiGo reported that the aircraft successfully landed at 0908 IST on Thursday morning.
