KTR, BRS Working President, Accuses Congress of Sabotaging Welfare Programs

Addressing a party meeting at Telangana Bhavan, KTR asserted BRS's commitment to supporting the beneficiaries of these programs and resisting any attempts to dismantle them.

Hyderabad: Bharata Rashtra Samithi (BRS) Working President K T Rama Rao (KTR) made strong allegations against the Congress Party, accusing them of conspiring to obstruct the welfare programmes initiated by the previous BRS government.

Addressing a party meeting at Telangana Bhavan, KTR asserted BRS’s commitment to supporting the beneficiaries of these programs and resisting any attempts to dismantle them.

He claimed that the Congress government is freezing bank accounts of selected Dalit Bandhu beneficiaries, a groundbreaking scheme aimed at empowering Dalit families with a financial grant of Rs. 10 lakhs each for economic self-reliance. KTR also criticized the cancellation of the Gruha Lakshmi scheme, intended for housing construction for the poor.

“The Congress, despite having ruled for 50 years, has never implemented such innovative welfare programs,” said KTR. “Now, they want to sabotage our initiatives like Dalit Bandhu, Gruha Lakshmi, BC Bandhu, and sheep distribution,” he added.

KTR specifically condemned the alleged backtracking plans of the Congress party on Dalit Bandhu, accusing them of forgetting their election promise to increase the grant per family from Rs. 10 lakhs to Rs. 12 lakhs.

He also cited the abrupt cancellation of the Gruha Lakshmi scheme, despite completing beneficiary identification and necessary proceedings. He pledged to stand by the affected families and advocate for their rights.

Furthermore, KTR criticized the Congress party for their drama regarding debts and white papers, accusing them of making false promises during the election campaign. He reminded that the Congress Deputy Chief Minister denied promising unemployment allowance to the state’s youth in the assembly.

“They gave 420 guarantees, and we won’t let them get away with talking about only six. BRS will hold them accountable for every promise made to the people,” declared the BRS Working President.

KTR contrasted the efficient delivery of welfare schemes under the BRS government with the alleged long queues and suffering inflicted by the current administration. He accused the Congress government of deliberately imposing bureaucratic delays for political gain and pledged to expose their mismanagement while pressuring them to deliver.

In a call to action, KTR urged party members to work tirelessly at the grassroots level to counter the perceived “poor performance and administration” of the Congress government.
