KTR Questions Revanth Reddy Government Over Slow Progress of Musi River Bridge

KTR pointed to photographs from September 2023 and August 30, 2026, to highlight the pace of construction. According to his criticism, the foundation stone for the bridge was laid in September 2023, when KTR was serving as the then Municipal Administration Minister.
The proposed bridge is designed as a six-lane structure, with three lanes in each direction. KTR claimed that, nearly three years after the foundation stone was laid, only one side of the bridge, comprising three lanes, has been completed.
Taking a dig at Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy, who also holds the Municipal Administration portfolio, KTR described the delay as an example of the government’s alleged inefficiency.

KTR questioned how the government could execute the proposed Musi River beautification project, which has been associated with an estimated expenditure of around ₹1.5 lakh crore, when the construction of a relatively small bridge has taken several years and remains only partially complete.
The BRS leader’s remarks are part of his broader criticism of the Congress government’s handling of the Musi Riverfront project. He has repeatedly questioned the proposed expenditure and the pace of infrastructure works associated with the project.
The bridge’s construction progress and the reasons for the delay are likely to remain a point of political debate between the ruling Congress and the opposition BRS.
The Telangana government has yet to respond specifically to KTR’s latest criticism regarding the bridge’s construction timeline.
