Hyderabad: Several gangs involved in PDHS rice smuggling, but three key gangs are active. These gangs are reported to be heavily involved in purchasing rice from ration shops on a daily basis and selling it at high prices on a large scale illegally.

It is said that these three gangs are engaged in illegal activities under the supervision of Constable Amberpet’s Task Force. According to reliable sources, a businessman in Amberpet invests capital and Sargana Rehman is directly involved in purchasing rice from ration shop dealers.

It is reported that this rice is sold to Akram. Additionally, it is supplied to Ayub. These gangs sell rice to other states at high prices. In the city and its surroundings, rice is being purchased at low prices from ration shops and sold at high prices.

The state government needs to closely monitor ration shops and, if necessary, suspend their rice distribution because a large number of consumers do not buy rice from ration shops.

Due to the negligence of rice suppliers and the lack of effective crackdown on ration shops, open PDHS rice sales are ongoing due to the absence of violence.

It has been openly happening for many years under the supervision of a constable of the East Zone Task Force, who overlooks the Amberpet area.

It is common knowledge to everyone from top to bottom. Now this illegal business has spread so much that there is no limit to it. This business has spread to areas beyond Amberpet, including Chandrayangutta, Yakutpura, Eidgah Bazaar, Old Malakpet, Bada Bazaar, Dabeerpura, and many other areas of the city and its suburban areas.

Its center is located in Tata Nagar, Malakpet, and after all police station officials have taken their share, these smugglers are left unchecked. Their trucks pass through the streets, but neither the police nor the officials of the Civil Supplies Department search for them.

This illegal business is not only harming the public but also causing significant losses to the state government. The government is providing PDHS rice for the poor, but these gangs are involved in the illegal purchase and sale of rice. They are depriving the public of their rights.

Ration shop dealers are also involved in this crime alongside these smugglers. There is also a significant number of individuals working on a moderate commission with major smugglers. Agents working with major smugglers can also be arrested.

City Police Commissioner Srinivas Reddy is appealed to take necessary steps to stop PDHS rice smuggling just like they are trying to control the curse of drugs.”
