As the Election Results of the Telangana State Assembly are scheduled to be declared tomorrow, December 3, you can join us for full coverage of the entire event with live updates from the 49 counting stations. Extensive arrangements, including strict three-layer security inspection, have been put in place for the announcement of polling results following the concurrent voting for all 119 seats on November 30.

The election ballot showcases a whopping 2,290 candidates, including prominent figures like Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao, who is contesting for seats in the two municipalities of Kamareddy and Gajwel. His son K T Rama Rao envisioned a victory in Siricilla, whilst Telangana Congress head A Revanth Reddy was looking for a win in Kamareddy and Kodangal.

  • Azharuddin defeated in Jubilee Hills constituency?

    The defeat of Congress candidate Muhammad Azharuddin from Jubilee Hills Assembly Constituency is certain. After the counting of 26 rounds has been completed there, Azharuddin has got 62 thousand 343 votes while BRS candidate Maganti Gopinath has got 78 thousand 282 votes. Now only one round of counting is left and Azharuddin is trailing his rival by a margin of 15,939 votes.
  • Ravi Gupta, appointed the new DGP of Telangana

    The Election Commission has appointed Ravi Gupta as the new DGP of Telangana. It should be clear that the Election Commission suspended DGP Anjani Kumar for violating the election code of conduct. Initial trends show KCR was leading in Gajwel, from where he is seeking re-election. Former TPCC president Uttam Kumar Reddy and Congress Legislature Party (CLP) leader Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka were also leading in Huzurabad and Madhira constituencies. BRS, which had bagged 88 seats in the 119-member Assembly in 2018, contested all seats on its own while Congress had left one seat for its ally CPI. The BJP contested 111 seats and left eight segments for its ally Jana Sena Party (JSP) led by actor-politician Pawan Kalyan. Chief Electoral Officer Vikas Raj said that the counting began at 8 a.m. at 49 counting centres for all 119 Assembly constituencies. The Electronic Voting Machines (EVMs) will be opened half-an-hour later and even if the postal ballot counting is not completed, parallel counting will be undertaken. Police have imposed prohibitory order around the centres and stepped-up security to maintain law and order. The election authorities have set up 1,798 tables and there will be a total of 2,417 rounds of counting. According to the Election Commission, 71.34 per cent polling was recorded in the elections held on November 30. This is about 2 per cent lower than the turnout in 2018 elections. Out of a total 3,26,02,793 voters, 2,32,59,256 cast their ballots. In the 2018 elections, Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) had bagged 88 seats, while Congress had won 19 seats.
