Telangana Guv dissolves second legislative Assembly

The Congress party bagged 65 seats including its ally CPI winning one seat in the 119-member assembly in the election held on November 30. The grand old party is all set to form the new government in the state.

Hyderabad: Telangana Governor Dr Tamilisai Soundararajan on Monday dissolved the second legislative assembly of the Telangana state with effect from Sunday afternoon.

Consequent to the resolution yesterday of the Council of Ministers recommending the dissolution of the second Legislative Assembly of Telangana state, the Governor dissolved it in exercise of the powers conferred on her under 174 (2) (b) of the Constitution of India, with effect from the afternoon of December 3, 2023, on the advice of Council of Ministers, Secretary to Governor K.Surendra Mohan said in a press Communiqué here.
