Telangana Movement Activists Recognition Committee Holds First Meeting Under Keshav Rao Leadership
The Telangana Movement Activists Recognition Committee held its first meeting under Keshav Rao and proposed four categories for recognising Telangana movement activists.

Hyderabad: The first meeting of the Telangana Movement Activists Recognition Committee was held under the leadership of Chairman Keshav Rao to discuss the recognition process for Telangana movement activists. The committee thanked Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy for officially constituting the committee and decided to begin consultations with various groups and organisations connected to the Telangana movement.

Office to Be Set Up Near Amaraveerulu Jyothi
The committee decided to establish the office of the Telangana Movement Activists Recognition Committee in the office premises under Amaraveerulu Jyothi.
Members also decided to organise an all-party meeting soon to discuss the recognition of Amaraveerulu and collect proposals from political parties.
Committee to Seek Proposals From Various Organisations
The committee resolved to collect suggestions and proposals from several groups associated with the Telangana movement, including:
- Telangana Movement Activists JAC
- 1969 movement activists
- Employee unions
- Artists JAC
- Backward Classes JAC
- Caste associations
- Lawyers JAC
- Various district-level movement organisations
The committee also decided to conduct district tours and gather public opinion extensively regarding the recognition process.
Four Categories Proposed for Recognition of Activists
The activists committee prepared four categories of proposals for recognising Telangana movement activists.
First Category
First priority will be given to those who died during the Telangana movement.
Second Category
Those injured during the movement will be considered under the second category.
Third Category
Those who went to jail, were arrested or were involved in Telangana movement-related cases will be considered under the third category.
Fourth Category
Those who worked at the field level in various regions during the movement will be recognised under the fourth category.
The committee proposed examining paper cuttings and documentary records related to their activities during the movement for recognition under the fourth category.
Proposals to Be Collected From Civil Society Groups
The committee also decided to gather proposals from members of civil society who played a key role during the Telangana movement.
Members further resolved to meet activists connected with the 1969, 1972 and 1996 Telangana movements to collect additional suggestions and proposals.
Committee Says Recognition Will Be Beyond Politics
The committee stated that it was formed to protect the identity of the Telangana movement and clarified that the selection process for recognising activists would be conducted beyond politics.
Committee members stated that under the previous government, assistance was provided only to a limited number of people. They said the present committee intends to ensure recognition is carried out without political bias or party considerations.
The committee also thanked Chief Minister Revanth Reddy for constituting the committee immediately after his return from Kerala based on the points proposed by the activists committee.
Members decided to discuss the committee’s proposals further with the Chief Minister.
