Telangana’s Vritti Agarwal Shines at 67th National School Games Swimming Championship

Hyderabad: In a historic moment at the 67th National School Games Swimming Championship held at Dr. Syama Prasad Mookerjee Swimming Pool in Talkatora, New Delhi from January 3rd to 9th, 2024, Vritti Agarwal emerged as a trailblazer for Telangana. Vritti Agarwal, the first swimmer from Telangana to represent India at the Asian Games, clinched the top spot in the Under 19 Girls 800 Meters Freestyle.

In the fiercely competitive event, Vritti showcased her prowess, securing the 1st place with an impressive time of 9:29:01. Following closely, S. Shirin from the Council for the ISCE claimed the 2nd position with a time of 9:41:58, while Patil Dolly from Maharashtra secured the 3rd spot with a time of 10:06:35.

The Under 19 Boys 800 Meters Freestyle witnessed an equally thrilling competition, with Samadev Mongam from Kerala securing the gold with a remarkable time of 8:35:38. S. Dharshan from Karnataka secured the 2nd position with a time of 8:38:05, while Patil Atharvraj from Maharashtra claimed the 3rd spot with a time of 8:53:21.

Vritti Agarwal’s outstanding performance not only marked a significant achievement for Telangana but also added a glorious chapter to the National School Games Swimming Championship, showcasing the promising talent in the country’s swimming arena.
