UPSC Declares Civil Services Results, Shubham Kumar Tops

A total of 761 candidates – 545 men and 216 women – have been recommended for appointment.

New Delhi: The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) on Friday declared the result of the Civil Services (Main) examination 2020,with Shubham Kumar bagging the first rank.

Jagrati Awasthi has secured the second position, followed by Ankita Jain and Yash Jaluka.

Elated over his selection, Jaluka said his hard work has paid off.

“I am feeling very happy. I had prepared for many years. I used to study for around eight to nine hours every day,” he told UNI.

A total of 761 candidates – 545 men and 216 women – have been recommended for appointment.

There are 263 candidates from General category, 86 from Economically Weaker Sections, 229 from OBC groups, 122 from SC and 61 from ST communities, an official statement said.

The candidature of 151 candidates is provisional.

The civil services examination is conducted annually by the UPSC in three stages — preliminary, main and interview.
