Lucknow: Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) MP Varun Gandhi on Monday asked what was the logic behind night curfew to beat Covid-19 when lakhs of people attended election rallies during the day in Uttar Pradesh.
“Imposing curfew at night and calling lakhs of people to rallies during day – this is beyond the comprehension of the general public,” he said.
“Keeping in view the limited health arrangements in Uttar Pradesh, we need to decide honestly whether our priority is to check the spread of Omicron or display political power.”
The state government has imposed night curfew between 11 pm and 5 am from December 25.
