Hyderabad : Hyderabad With the objective of highlighting advances in kidney transplantation, including modern treatment approaches, post-transplant care, long-term graft health, and creating greater awareness about organ donation, Yashoda Hospitals, HITEC City, organized “Kidney Symposium 2026.” The symposium brought together leading nephrologists, urologists, transplant specialists, and other medical professionals who discussed the latest developments in kidney transplantation and shared their clinical experiences. The programme was patronized by Yashoda Hospitals Chairman Shri G. Ravinder Rao and Managing Director Dr. G. Surender Rao. Union Minister of Coal & Mines and Secunderabad MP Shri G. Kishan Reddy participated as the Chief Guest, while NITI Aayog Member Dr. R. Balasubrahmanyam attended as the Guest of Honour.

Speaking on the occasion, Union Minister Shri G. Kishan Reddy said, “Kidney transplantation provides new hope and an opportunity for a better life to patients suffering from kidney diseases. The availability of advanced medical technology, coordination among expert medical teams, and improved treatment approaches in this field is highly commendable. Yashoda Hospitals, HITEC City, successfully performing more than 400 kidney transplant surgeries and achieving good outcomes even in complex cases is truly appreciable. In particular, medical services such as ABO-incompatible kidney transplantation and transplantation for elderly patients are providing hope to many more patients.

Similarly, creating greater awareness about organ donation among the public is extremely important. Through organ donation, one person can give another person a new lease of life. It is essential to dispel misconceptions about organ donation and encourage more people to come forward to donate their organs. Initiatives such as Kidney Symposium 2026 organized by Yashoda Hospitals play an important role in strengthening awareness among medical professionals, the public, and society at large. I hope that awareness about prevention of kidney diseases, timely treatment, organ donation, and post-transplant care will continue to increase,” said Shri G. Kishan Reddy.

Yashoda Hospitals Managing Director, Dr. G. Surender Rao, said, “We are able to achieve improved outcomes in kidney transplantation through advanced technology, the collective efforts of experienced medical specialists, and comprehensive patient care. It is a matter of great pride for us that Yashoda Hospitals, HITEC City, has successfully performed more than 400 kidney transplant surgeries since the initiation of its kidney transplant programme. Achieving good outcomes in complex cases, including ABO-incompatible kidney transplantation, transplantation in elderly patients, and successful kidney donations from elderly living donors, is a testament to the commitment of our medical team,” said Dr. G. Surender Rao.

Dr. Rajasekhara Chakravarthy, Clinical Director, Department of Nephrology, Yashoda Hospitals– Hitec City, said, “Kidney transplantation is not a process that ends with the surgery alone. Proper selection of donors and recipients, comprehensive medical evaluation before transplantation, coordination among various medical specialties, continuous monitoring after surgery, and long-term follow-up all play a crucial role in achieving better outcomes. Performing more than 400 kidney transplant surgeries at Yashoda Hospitals, HITEC City, is a testament to the collective efforts of our medical team. Our experience with ABO-incompatible transplantation, kidney transplantation in elderly patients, and successful kidney donations from elderly living donors has helped us provide transplant opportunities to more patients. Even after transplantation, it is extremely important for patients to remain under regular medical supervision, take prescribed medications as advised, and follow a healthy lifestyle,” said Dr. Rajasekhara Chakravarthy.
