MLC by-election in Telangana registers 68.65 pc voter turnout

The by-election to the Member of Legislative Council (MLC) from the Warangal-Khammam-Nalgonda graduates' constituency registered a 68.65 per cent voter turnout by the end of polling at 16:00 hours on Monday.

Hyderabad: The by-election to the Member of Legislative Council (MLC) from the Warangal-Khammam-Nalgonda graduates’ constituency registered a 68.65 per cent voter turnout by the end of polling at 16:00 hours on Monday.

Voters in queues before 16:00 hours are allowed by the election authorities to exercise their franchise.

Polling began at 0800 hours and concluded at 16:00 hours, with a 68.65 per cent voter turnout, according to Chief Electoral Office (CEO)

A total of 4,63,839 graduate voters from the constituency, which spans 34 assembly constituencies, cast their ballots at 605 polling booths. There were 52 candidates in the election fray.

The counting of votes will be held on June 5.
