Hyderabad: In a successful special drive, the Nampally Police recovered 70 lost and stolen mobile phones worth ₹11 lakh through a tech-enabled tracing operation.
The operation was carried out under the supervision of Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP) R. Sanjay Kumar, Saifabad Division, Central Zone, Hyderabad. Inspector K. Narayan Reddy, Additional Inspector K. Mahesh, and the technical team of Nampally Police Station played a key role in tracing the missing devices reported over the past three months.
Using advanced tools such as the Central Equipment Identity Register (CEIR) portal, technical surveillance, and coordination with mobile service providers, the police were able to track and recover the devices from various locations.
A formal handing-over ceremony was held at the Nampally Police Station on Thursday evening, where the recovered phones were returned to their rightful owners after verifying IMEI numbers and supporting documents.
Several beneficiaries expressed gratitude to the police for their swift and technology-driven action, praising the department’s commitment to public service.
The Nampally Police advised the public to immediately report any lost or stolen mobile phones to the nearest police station and register the details on the CEIR portal (https://ceir.gov.in) to improve the chances of recovery.
