Hyderabad: In a major security alert, police arrested a man for carrying an illegal country-made gun (desi katta) in the Hussaini Alam police station limits of Hyderabad. The arrest was made during routine patrolling on December 31, Wednesday evening, highlighting strict vigilance by city police.

The incident took place near Kilwath Ground, opposite Mohammadiya Pharmacy, where police noticed a person moving suspiciously and decided to check him.
Suspicious Movement Leads to Police Check
According to police officials, the incident occurred around 6:00 PM while officers were conducting regular patrols in the Hussaini Alam area.

- During the check, an illegal country-made gun without bullets was recovered
The weapon was immediately seized on the spot.
Accused Identified as Amjad Khan (29)
The arrested person was identified as Amjad Khan (29), a resident of the Charminar area.

- Son of a glass trader (Gajula business) in Charminar
- Carrying the weapon without any valid licence
- Illegal gun seized in the presence of local witnesses
Police confirmed that the firearm was being carried unlawfully.

Following the seizure:
- Police took Amjad Khan into custody
- A case was registered under Arms Act Section 25(1-B)(a)
- Investigation is underway to determine where the weapon was sourced from
Hussaini Alam police are questioning the accused to trace the origin of the illegal firearm and check if there are any further links.
