Telangana Govt Forms Committee to Identify and Honour Telangana Movement Activists
Telangana government formed a committee headed by Dr. K. Keshava Rao to identify and honour Telangana Movement Activists for their contributions to the Telangana movement.

The Government of Telangana has constituted a committee to identify “Telangana Movement Activists” and recommend measures to recognise and honour their contributions and sacrifices made during the Telangana movement. The committee was formed under G.O.Rt.No.679 dated May 15, 2026, issued by the General Administration (Cabinet) Department.

Telangana Government Constitutes Special Committee
According to the government order, the committee has been established to frame guidelines for identifying Telangana movement activists and recommending recognition measures for them.

The Telangana government appointed senior leader Dr. K. Keshava Rao as Chairman of the committee.

Committee to Identify Telangana Movement Activists
The committee has been assigned the responsibility of:
- Framing criteria for identifying Telangana movement activists
- Preparing a list of eligible “Telangana Movement Activists”
- Recommending honours, recognitions, facilities, and courtesies for them
Officials stated that the committee will study the contributions and sacrifices made by individuals during the Telangana movement before making recommendations.
Telangana Govt Focuses on Recognising Movement Contributors
The formation of the committee is aimed at officially recognising individuals who actively participated in the Telangana movement and contributed toward the formation of the state.
The government said the committee would recommend appropriate measures to honour eligible activists.
