CM Revanth Reddy Orders Timely Salaries for Employees on First of Every Month

Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy directed timely salary payments for 50,000 Gram Panchayat employees and announced ₹50 crore monthly allocation for salaries.

Hyderabad: Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy directed officials to ensure that salaries for 50,000 Gram Panchayat employees in the State are paid on the first day of every month without delay. During a high-level review meeting on Panchayat Raj and Rural Development, the Chief Minister also announced that the government would allocate ₹50 crore every month specifically for payment of Gram Panchayat staff salaries.

CM Revanth Reddy Reviews Panchayat Raj and Rural Development Department

The Chief Minister conducted a review meeting with senior officials of the Panchayat Raj and Rural Development Department and issued several important instructions.

Revanth Reddy said that Gram Panchayat employees should receive salaries on time just like IAS officers receive their salaries every month.

He directed officials to take all necessary measures to ensure timely salary payments to employees.

₹50 Crore Monthly Allocation for Gram Panchayat Staff Salaries

The Chief Minister stated that the Telangana Government would specially release ₹50 crore every month for payment of salaries to Gram Panchayat employees.

He also instructed officials to ensure that employees working under outsourcing and contract systems in all government departments receive salaries on the first day of every month without discrimination.

The Chief Minister warned that even a one-day delay in salary payments would not be tolerated.

Telangana Government Plans Changes to Gram Panchayat Revenue Rules

Revanth Reddy directed officials to take steps to restore provisions that were removed by the previous government, which, according to him, weakened the independence of Gram Panchayats regarding their own source revenue.

The Chief Minister instructed officials to amend Section 70 (3) of the Telangana Panchayat Raj Act, 2018.

Under the proposed amendment, Gram Panchayat own source revenue (Own Source Revenue) would be deposited into bank accounts instead of treasury accounts.

CM Orders Changes in Pension Distribution System

The Chief Minister also issued key instructions regarding pension distribution.

He directed officials to discontinue the current pension distribution system through the postal department and instead directly deposit pensions into beneficiaries’ bank accounts.

Revanth Reddy instructed officials to ensure that pensions are provided only to eligible beneficiaries.

He specifically directed authorities to regularize pensions based on:

  • Voter Identity Card
  • Aadhaar
  • SEEEPC survey data

The Chief Minister also ordered officials to give first priority to sanctioning new pensions.

During the Panchayat Raj review meeting, he also ordered reforms in pension distribution, Gram Panchayat revenue management, and employee welfare systems across Telangana.
