Ponnam Prabhakar Responds to Pawan Kalyan’s Telangana Formation Day Remarks
The political exchange comes after Pawan Kalyan addressed the media at his residence in Hyderabad on the occasion of Telangana Formation Day.
Responding to those remarks at a press conference held at Gandhi Bhavan, Telangana Minister Ponnam Prabhakar strongly criticized the Andhra Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister and Jana Sena chief.
“Telangana is not anyone’s jagir, it is the jagir of four crore people,” Ponnam Prabhakar said.
He further alleged that Pawan Kalyan had strongly opposed the formation of Telangana and claimed that he had not done anything for the state.
Minister Demands Apology Over Gaddar Remarks
During the press conference, Ponnam Prabhakar demanded that Pawan Kalyan immediately apologize for remarks allegedly made regarding Telangana martyr and balladeer Gaddar.
The minister questioned Pawan Kalyan’s comments about purchasing a car for Gaddar and also asked whether the funds given to the Kondagattu Anjaneya Swamy Temple were from Pawan Kalyan’s personal money.
Ponnam Prabhakar further described Pawan Kalyan as a “paid artist” and alleged that he would play any role if paid.
Criticism Over Telangana Movement and Formation Day Meeting
The Telangana minister alleged that Pawan Kalyan never spoke in support of Telangana’s people during the Telangana movement.
He further claimed that Pawan Kalyan had once again made false statements regarding the people of Andhra Pradesh.
Ponnam Prabhakar also criticized Pawan Kalyan for holding a meeting in Hyderabad on Telangana Formation Day.
‘People Will Come to See Him, But Not Vote’
Continuing his criticism, Ponnam Prabhakar predicted that while people may gather to see Pawan Kalyan, they would not vote for him politically.
The minister stated that Telangana would always welcome Pawan Kalyan as a film actor and would also welcome people from Andhra Pradesh.
However, he maintained that politically, Telangana would not gain or lose anything whether Pawan Kalyan entered or exited the state’s political landscape.
