A video circulating on social media shows several large potholes in the middle of the Delhi–Dehradun Expressway, with vehicles travelling at high speed despite the damaged road surface.
The person who recorded the video claimed that his van was damaged after hitting one of the potholes, stating that the impact bent the vehicle’s rim.
The video has raised fresh concerns over road safety and the quality of construction on the newly inaugurated expressway.
Monsoon Raises Fresh Questions Over Road Durability
The issue has attracted attention as the southwest monsoon has only recently reached Delhi and Uttarakhand.

According to the report, potholes are now being reported on several sections of the highway just two months later, intensifying debate over construction standards and maintenance.
As of now, the agencies responsible for the expressway have not issued an official statement regarding the issue.
Recent Fatal Accident on the Expressway
A few days earlier, four members of a family from Sonipat district, Haryana, were killed, while three others sustained critical injuries in a collision involving two vehicles on the expressway.
The accident occurred on Friday, June 26, near the Halgoya cut in the Rampur Maniharan area of Saharanpur district, Uttar Pradesh.
According to police, the family was travelling in a Tata Tiago and had accidentally crossed their designated exit.
The driver allegedly attempted to reverse the car toward the missed exit when a speeding Mahindra Scorpio SUV crashed into it from behind.
Police said the impact dragged the Tata Tiago for nearly 300 metres before it overturned several times and plunged off the road.
The Tiago was completely wrecked in the crash, while the Mahindra Scorpio SUV also lost control and overturned.
