Hyderabad: The Hyderabad City Police conducted a Community Contact Programme (Cordon and Search Operation – CASO) on July 7, 2026, within the limits of Chatrinaka Police Station in the Charminar Zone, leading to the seizure of 14 litres of Indian Made Foreign Liquor (IMFL), 105 liquor bottles, 25 two-wheelers, and 02 LPG gas cylinders. Police also verified 04 suspects as part of preventive policing. Necessary legal action is being initiated against those involved in the illegal liquor trade.

CASO Conducted in Chatrinaka Police Station Limits
As part of Hyderabad City Police’s continuous efforts to maintain public order, curb illegal activities, and strengthen community policing, a Community Contact Programme (Cordon and Search Operation – CASO) was conducted on the evening of 07-07-2026 within the limits of Chatrinaka Police Station, Charminar Zone.
The operation was launched based on credible information regarding the illegal sale of liquor in the Mekala Mandi area.
The operation was conducted under the direct supervision of Kiran Khare, Deputy Commissioner of Police, Charminar Zone.
The objectives of the operation were to:
- Detect the illegal liquor trade.
- Verify suspicious persons and vehicles.
- Prevent criminal activities.
- Enhance public confidence in policing.
Large Police Team Deployed
A large police contingent participated in the operation, comprising:
- 02 Assistant Commissioners of Police (ACPs)
- 09 Circle Inspectors (CIs)
- 13 Sub-Inspectors (SIs)
- 159 other police personnel
The force was strategically deployed through:
- 07 Search Parties
- 04 Cut-off Parties
- 04 Lifting Parties
- 01 Holding Point
Police carried out systematic house-to-house searches, verified suspicious persons, checked vehicles, and inspected premises suspected of unlawful activities.
Illegal Liquor Seized During Special Drive
During the operation, police detected liquor allegedly intended for unauthorized sale.
The following items were seized:
- 14 litres of Indian Made Foreign Liquor (IMFL)
- 105 liquor bottles allegedly possessed for illegal sale
Police stated that necessary legal action is being initiated against the persons found involved in the illegal liquor trade in accordance with the relevant provisions of law.
Vehicle Verification and LPG Cylinders Seized
As part of the vehicle verification drive, police seized:
- 25 two-wheelers found without valid documents or under suspicious circumstances.
- 02 LPG gas cylinders suspected to have been kept without proper authorization for further enquiry.
Four Suspects Verified
During the CASO operation:
- 04 suspects were identified.
- They were subjected to verification and screening as part of preventive policing measures.
Police stated that appropriate legal action will be taken wherever violations are established.
