Hyderabad: The Telangana Government has launched the Indiramma Indlu Affordable Ownership Flats Scheme for eligible families living in the Hyderabad Core Urban Region Economy (CURE) area. Under the first phase, the government will construct 7,680 affordable residential flats, while the long-term target is to build 1 lakh flats in future phases. Applications for the scheme began on July 21, and final allotment will be based on eligibility verification, a lottery system, and the availability of flats.

Telangana Starts Applications for Indiramma Indlu Affordable Flats

The Telangana Government has invited applications for the Indiramma Indlu Affordable Ownership Flats Scheme from eligible residents of the CURE area in Hyderabad.

According to the official guidelines, the application process started on July 21.

The government said the scheme aims to provide affordable and permanent housing to low-income urban families.

Eligibility Criteria for Indiramma Indlu Flats Scheme

Applicants must meet the following conditions:

  • Must be a permanent resident of Hyderabad’s CURE area for at least 10 years
  • Neither the applicant nor any family member should own a house, flat, or plot within the Outer Ring Road (ORR) or CURE limits
  • The applicant or family must not have benefited from any previous government housing scheme
  • The annual family income must be Rs 6 lakh or less
  • Only one application per family is allowed
  • Each eligible family can receive only one flat

The government warned that if false information is submitted or multiple applications are filed, the application may be rejected or the allotment may be cancelled.

Applicants must submit their applications in the Assembly constituency where they currently reside.

How to Apply for the Indiramma Indlu Scheme

Applications can be submitted through:

  • MeeSeva centres
  • WhatsApp
  • Official online government portal

Flat Size, Cost and Government Subsidy

According to the scheme guidelines:

  • Carpet area: 400 square feet
  • Built-up area: 528 square feet

The Telangana Government will provide a subsidy of Rs 5 lakh to every eligible family.

The beneficiary will have to contribute approximately Rs 6 lakh from their own funds.

Applicants must also deposit Rs 10,000 as a token amount or Earnest Money Deposit (EMD) while applying.

  • If a flat is allotted, the Rs 10,000 will be adjusted towards the total cost.
  • If no flat is allotted, the amount will be refunded.

Restrictions on Sale and Transfer

The government has clarified that flats allotted under the Indiramma Indlu Affordable Ownership Flats Scheme:

  • Cannot be sold
  • Cannot be rented out
  • Cannot be transferred to another person

for a period of 10 years.

However, beneficiaries will be allowed to obtain a housing loan from a bank.

The scheme will provide parking only for two-wheelers.

Final Allotment Process

Officials clarified that submitting an application does not guarantee allotment of a flat.

The final allotment will be made based on:

  • Eligibility verification
  • Lottery (draw of lots)
  • Availability of flats

Pilot Phase to Cover 16 Assembly Constituencies

The pilot phase of the scheme will be implemented in 16 Assembly constituencies in Hyderabad.

Approximately 500 flats will be constructed in each Assembly constituency under the pilot phase.

The government plans to expand the scheme in the coming years with a target of constructing 1 lakh affordable flats.
