Task Force Cracks Down on Illegal Food Manufacturing Unit, Materials Worth ₹4.07 Lakh Seized
Following the information, the H-FAST team and a Food Safety Officer inspected the premises and initiated necessary action. The accused persons and the seized material were subsequently handed over to the Adibatla Police.
Hyderabad: The Commissioner’s Task Force, Shamshabad Zone, has cracked down on an alleged illegal food manufacturing and distribution unit at M/s KSM Food Products in Bongloor Village under Adibatla Municipality in Rangareddy district and seized food products and raw materials worth approximately ₹4.07 lakh.
During the operation, the Task Force apprehended Mohammed Khaleed, 38, proprietor of the unit, and Santosh Kumar, 44, manager.
According to officials, the unit was found manufacturing food products using allegedly expired raw materials, unlabelled flavours and ingredients. The premises were also found to be operating under unhygienic conditions.
During the raid, officials seized Soanpapdi, Palli Patti/Chikki, jaggery, maida, flavours and other food ingredients and raw materials. The total value of the seized material was estimated at around ₹4,07,300.
Following the information, the H-FAST team and a Food Safety Officer inspected the premises and initiated necessary action. The accused persons and the seized material were subsequently handed over to the Adibatla Police.
Police registered Crime No. 659/2026 under Sections 275 and 318(4) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS). Further investigation is underway.
The operation was conducted by D. Krishna Mohan, Inspector of Police, Shamshabad Zone Task Force, along with Sub-Inspectors K. Mansoor Ali and other staff, in coordination with the H-FAST team and GHMC Food Safety Officer Rakesh.
Authorities have appealed to consumers to carefully check the manufacturing or packing date, expiry or best-before date, batch number, ingredients and proper labelling before purchasing packaged food products.
Consumers have also been advised to avoid expired, damaged or improperly labelled food items and report suspected food safety violations to the concerned authorities.
