His entry into the party was witnessed by a gathering of supporters and esteemed Muslim leaders of the TPCC.

This momentous occasion took place in the presence of AICC chief Mallikarjun Kharge, TPCC chief A Revanth Reddy, and former minister Shabbir Ali.

The Masqati family has held a longstanding association with local politics, exerting considerable influence in the historic old city. There are strong indications that Ali Masqati may receive a Congress nomination for the upcoming Assembly elections.

His late father, Ibrahim bin Abdullah Masqati, who passed away in 2015, had been elected as AIMIM’s MLA and served two terms.

Ali Masqati initially joined the Telugu Desam Party (TDP) in 2002, later becoming a Member of the Legislative Council (MLC) and also assuming the role of Chairman of the Urdu Academy.
