‘An Inclusive Caretaker Govt’ In Afghanistan: Taliban

The Taliban have stated that they are planning and working on forming an inclusive caretaker government in Afghanistan, with leaders from all ethnicities and tribal backgrounds.

Kabul: The world is keeping a wary eye on the growing situation in Afghanistan as conversations and meetings take place to establish a new government, which the Taliban claim will be inclusive.

The Taliban have stated that they are planning and working on forming an inclusive caretaker government in Afghanistan, with leaders from all ethnicities and tribal backgrounds.

According to Taliban insiders, over a dozen candidates are being considered for inclusion in the new government. However, because a caretaker administration is being constituted, the length of its tenure is unknown.

A supreme leader council has been established to finalise the ministries and the government for this purpose.

According to preliminary reports, the next government’s ministries will contain the following:

*Internal security
* Defence
* Foreign Affairs
* Finance
* Information
* Judiciary
* Special assignment for Kabul Affaris

The ongoing deliberations for the creation of the government began in Kandahar, and have now moved to Kabul for final consideration.

The primary heads of the council, Mullah Abdul Ghani Baradar, a co-founder of the Taliban, and Mullah Mohammad Yaqoob, the son of Taliban founder Mullah Omar, are anticipated to oversee the new arrangement.

According to sources, the new government will introduce fresh faces, including Tajik tribal leaders’ sons and Uzbek tribe leaders’ sons.

The US, on the other hand, has been pressuring the Taliban to add the names of former government figures, such as former President Hamid Karzai and Abdullah Abdullah, the former president of Afghanistan’s High Council for National Reconciliation, a demand that the Taliban has so far refused to meet.

According to Taliban sources, the new government will honour its commitment made in the Doha agreement with the US not to allow its soil to be used to spread terrorism. According to the source, women will be allowed to work in a variety of fields, including health and education, under the new Taliban government.

The sources also revealed, special courts will be established at the local level to combat corruption and deliver swift justice to corrupt officials. (IANS/ Hamza Ameer)
