Hyderabad: Union Minister of State Bandi Sanjay Kumar on Wednesday praised Andhra Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister Pawan Kalyan for what he described as effective control over social media, while calling for strict action against those allegedly targeting Sanatan Dharma through online platforms in the Telugu states.

The Union Minister also alleged that certain individuals, whom he described as “urban Naxals” operating under the guise of journalists and intellectuals, were attempting to undermine Indian culture through social media.
He urged the authorities to take stringent legal action against those responsible for spreading content that, in his view, insults religious beliefs and cultural traditions.
The remarks come amid ongoing political debate over freedom of expression, social media regulation, and the protection of religious sentiments in the Telugu-speaking states.
