CEO intervenes to ensure mandatory holiday to IT companies on November 30

As news circulates regarding IT companies not observing a holiday on November 30, Chief Electoral Officer Vikas Raj has intervened.

The CEO instructed the Labour Commissioner to ensure organizations comply with granting a holiday on the polling day, November 30, taking strict actions in accordance with electoral and labor laws.

Similar concerns arose during the 2018 Assembly and 2019 parliamentary elections, prompting the CEO of Telangana to address citizen complaints on social media.

Section 13 B of the Representation of People Act mandates a holiday for eligible voters on election day in any business or establishment. Concurrently, the District Collector has mandated the closure of schools on November 29 and 30 in anticipation of the Telangana Assembly Elections 2023.
