V. C. Sajjanar announced on his X handle that a new chapter in women’s safety has begun with the launch of “Spandana – All Women First Responder System” by A. Revanth Reddy in Hyderabad.

14 All-Women Teams for Immediate Response and Protection
Under the Spandana system:
- 14 special teams will be available 24 hours
- The teams will focus on protection of women and children in the city
- From drivers to staff, all members are women
- The system will provide immediate help and assurance to those in distress
Launch at Telangana Command Control Centre (ICCC)
As part of Praja Palana – Pragati Pranali, the Chief Minister:
- Flagged off Spandana vehicles from the Telangana Command Control Centre (ICCC)
- Later launched the teams during a meeting with city police and Peace Committee members
CM Revanth Reddy Highlights Importance of Women Safety
Speaking at the event, the Chief Minister said:
- “A woman must be provided safety to stand on her own feet”
- “Children must also be protected”
- “Only when women can freely pursue education and business, society will progress”
He reiterated that the Telangana government gives top priority to safety of women and children.
Continuation of Initiatives Like SHE Teams and Stand With Her
The Chief Minister recalled earlier initiatives:
- #SHE Teams to punish harassment against women
- #StandWithHer programme to support women facing discrimination
He stated that Spandana teams are another step forward, functioning 24 hours under the city Police Commissioner.
Role of Spandana Teams and Community Participation
The CM explained:
- Teams will first provide mental support to victims
- Then take legal action
- The goal is to instill confidence and trust among women
He also urged:
- Voluntary organisations and Peace Committees to act responsibly
- Help in preventing incidents and supporting victims
Strong Warning on Drugs and Anti-Social Activities
The Chief Minister highlighted:
- Crimes against women are often linked to drug abuse
- The government is taking a strict stand through EAGLE Telangana
He said:
- There will be no exceptions in action against drug-related crimes
- Citizens must report ganja or drug activities to police immediately
Rehabilitation and Social Responsibility
The government is also:
- Setting up large-scale rehabilitation centres for drug-affected individuals
- Encouraging NGOs to participate in drug control efforts
The CM emphasized:
- Society must eliminate substance abuse
- Taking action against offenders sends a strong message
Women Empowerment and Economic Initiatives

- Women empowerment is key to economic growth

- Making women owners of 1000 buses
- Promoting Indira Mahila Shakti canteens in government offices
- Handing over 26,000 government schools under Amma Adarsha Paathashalas to women groups
- Assigning uniform stitching work to SHGs
- Allocating 3.5 acres near Hitech City for Indira Mahila Shakti stalls
