Dalit Bandhu Scheme was not Brought for Huzurabad By-Elections: KCR

The Chief Minister giving the reply on the short discussions on "Dalit Bandhu" on the floor of the House, today, alleged the Opposition parties speaking from a political perspective.

Hyderabad:  Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao said that the Dalit Bandhu scheme (in which Rs. 10 lakh is given to each family of SCs) has not been brought with the aim to win the Huzurabad By-elections.

The Chief Minister giving the reply on the short discussions on “Dalit Bandhu” on the floor of the House, today, alleged the Opposition parties speaking from a political perspective.  He said that the Dalits were in a miserable condition and the situation was similar across the country, these oppressed people were not empowered, he said that Dr. Baba Saheb Ambedkar could do what all he could do for the Dalits, he said Dr. Ambedkar’s line of thinking was now coming up for discussion across the country.  The Chief Minister made comments on the Congress saying that he would not say what the Congress party had done to the Dalits, they had done what they could do,  if the Congress party could have done, BJP would not have come to power.  He questioned the Congress party whether they do not know when the elections will come, is it not a political party? he asked.

The Chief Minister said that the Central government plan is to increase the reservation percentage of Dalits, he said why the Central government was not doing the BC Census, why did the Center file an affidavit in the Supreme Court, he said that he told Prime Minister Narender Modi many times to do the categorisation of SCs.

The Chief Minister said that in the coming budget Rs. 20,000 crore will be allocated for the Dalit Bandhu scheme, from this budget 100 Dalit families will be selected from each 100 Assembly constituency.  The selection of Dalit beneficiaries will be handed over to the MLA.  He said Rs. 10 lakh will be given to the beneficiaries from which they can do business anywhere for which the government has no objection.  Land prices have gone up in Telangana, he said he could not find an acre of land for less than Rs. 20 lakhs. 

The Chief Minister has reiterated that in the coming two or three months, the process for appointments will commence, 80 thousand vacancies will be filled.  He said in politics anything can happen, even the TRS can come to power at the Center, he said.
