Harish Rao Heads Cabinet Sub-Committee to Check Omicron Spread

The Chief Minister said that sub-committee to be headed by Harish Rao will focus on Omicron problem arising out of news spread at international level.

Hyderabad: Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao today appointed a Cabinet sub-committee with Health Minister T Harish Rao its chairman to tackle the Omicron virus and steps to prevent it. K Chandrasekhar Rao has chaired a Cabinet meeting at the Pragathi Bhavan here.

Ministers Harish Rao, KT Rama Rao, E Dayakar Rao, Sabitha Indra Reddy and others attended.

The Chief Minister said that sub-committee to be headed by Harish Rao will focus on Omicron problem arising out of news spread at international level. He instructed the health officials at state level to be more cautious at new virus and prevent its spread in the state.

The Chief Minister appointed a cabinet sub-committee and directed its chairman Harish Rao to tackle to be more vigilant. He is learnt to have asked the Health Minister to initiate steps to prevent its spread and ensure that the state would have no such cases. 

The CM instructed the sub-committee to be more vigilant and monitor the situation to prevent Omicron from entering the state by taking more appropriate measures. Meanwhile, the health officials gave a report on omicron, corona vaccination drive, existing facilities and more steps.

The sub-committee will monitor the situation and direct the health officials to take up more steps to prevent Omicron from entering the state and take immediate measures to stop its spread, according to information. As directed by the Chief Minister Harish Rao has taken stock of the situation of corona, new variants like Omicron and its possible spread to other places.

The CM has directed the sub-committee a report on its future plan to control attack of new variants and preparedness, according to information.
