All Efforts are Being Initiated to Protect TSRTC

Minister for Transport, Puvvada Ajay said that the government is taking all initiatives to protect the TSRTC, presently the TSRTC is incurring losses of Rs. 3 crores per day.

Hyderabad: Minister for Transport, Puvvada Ajay said that the government is taking all initiatives to protect the TSRTC, presently the TSRTC is incurring losses of Rs. 3 crores per day, the aim is to bring at least on the basis of “No Profit No Loss”  as part of this initiative the Cargo Parcel and Courier Services started by the TSRTC, the income derived through Cargo and Parcel Services since started last year is Rs. 62.02 crores till now.  he said this year the target has been fixed for Rs. 100 crores, which will be achieved, he said.

Answering TRS members  A. Jeevan Reddy, Muta Gopal, Kalvakuntal Vidyasagar Rao, and BJP Member Raghunandan Rao, the Minister admitted that in the last two years, the Corporation got the loss of over Rs. 2,000 crores it is by coronavirus pandemic and other issues, because of this, there is a restriction in the hiring of private buses and also of reducing in the number of buses, but slowing the services will improve.

He also said that the TSRTC which has already tie-up GMR Hyderabad International Airport on cargo services will soon sign the MoU with companies like Amazon and other government departments.  He said the customers are happy with TSRTC Cargo and Parcel services and there is a plan to introduce “Home pickup and Home delivery” of Parcel Services in the State.  At present TSRTC is having 195 Cargo vehicles. it is also planned to add 50 more Cargo Transport Vehicles in near future.
