Heavy Floods in Himayat Sagar and Osman Sagar

750 cusecs of water is coming into the Himayat Sagar reservoir and on the other hand flood of 1200 cusecs is flowing into the Osman Sagar.

Hyderabad: Heavy flood water continues to flow into twin reservoirs (Himayat Sagar and Osman Sagar) in the city of Hyderabad due to heavy rains in the upper reaches. 

750 cusecs of water is coming into the Himayat Sagar reservoir which is having full reservoir level of 1763.50 feet. Presently, the water level reached 1762.10 feet. The authorities have released 700 cusecs of water into River Musi through two gates.

On the other hand flood of 1200 cusecs is flowing into the Osman Sagar. This is having the full reservoir level of 1790 feet. Presently the water level in this reservoir is 1789.35 feet. Four gates of the reservoir are lifted and 1800 cusecs of water is released into the Musi river. (Munsif News Bureau)
