Hyderabad Traffic Police Book Man for Using Fake Number Plate, FIR Registered at Banjara Hills Police Station

Hyderabad Traffic Police booked a man for using fake number plate AP11AA6077 on a Hero Passion Plus bike. FIR registered at Banjara Hills Police Station.

Hyderabad: Hyderabad Traffic Police, during enforcement work, detected a fake number plate case and coordinated with Banjara Hills Police to register a criminal case against a man identified as Gaikwad Navanath for allegedly using a fake registration number plate on his two-wheeler. Police registered FIR No.434/2026 under Section 318(4) of BNS and Section 192(1) read with 177 of the Motor Vehicles Act. Further investigation is ongoing.

Accused Identified as Gaikwad Navanath

According to Hyderabad Traffic Police, the accused was identified as:

  • GAIKWAD NAVANATH
    • S/o G. Vittal Rao
    • Age: 40 years
    • Resident of Gokulnagar, Mallepally, Hyderabad

Police said the accused was apprehended for allegedly using a fake registration number plate on his vehicle.

Fake Number Plate Used on Hero Passion Plus Bike

During inspection, police found that the accused allegedly used fake Registration Number Plate No. AP11AA6077 on his two-wheeler, identified as a Hero Passion Plus motorcycle.

According to police, the accused used the fake number plate with the intention of misleading government authorities and enforcement agencies to avoid traffic violation challan fines.

Traffic Challans Generated Against Genuine Vehicle Owner

Police stated that because of the fake number plate usage, traffic violation challans were wrongly generated against the legitimate registered owner of vehicle number AP11AA6077, which is a Honda Shine motorcycle.

The genuine vehicle owner was identified as:

  • Mr. Vikky Paswan
    • Resident of Laxmiguda, Rajendranagar, Hyderabad

FIR Registered at Banjara Hills Police Station

Based on the information gathered during enforcement work, Banjara Hills Police Station registered a criminal case vide FIR No.434/2026.

The case was registered under:

  • Section 318(4) of Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS)
  • Section 192(1) read with Section 177 of the Motor Vehicles Act

Police also issued notice to the accused under:

  • Section 35(3) of BNSS
  • Corresponding to Section 41 Cr.P.C.

Further investigation is in progress to identify the actual registration number of the fake vehicle allegedly used by the accused.

Police said the case was detected through coordinated efforts of:

  • Banjara Hills Police

Officials stated that the investigation is continuing.

Hyderabad Traffic Police Warn Public Against Fake Number Plates

The Hyderabad Traffic Police cautioned the public that the use of fake, identical, or tampered number plates is a serious punishable offence under the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) and the Motor Vehicles Act.

Police said strict legal action would be taken against violators.

Officials also stated that Hyderabad Traffic Police use advanced technology systems including:

  • CCTV surveillance
  • ANPR cameras

These systems help police detect fake, identical, and tampered number plates and track vehicle movements effectively.
