Hyderabad Police Enforce Strict Diwali Fireworks Ban Following Supreme Court Ruling


Hyderabad: In light of a recent Supreme Court judgment, the Hyderabad police have prohibited the use of fireworks in public spaces during Diwali.

According to an order by City Police Commissioner Sandeep Shandilya, the bursting of fireworks on roads and public areas is strictly forbidden, except between 8 pm and 10 pm.

Additionally, there is a complete ban on sound-emitting firecrackers, and the noise level from crackers, drums, and other instruments during this time must not exceed permissible limits.

Violators of these regulations may face prosecution under the Hyderabad City Police Act, 1348. These restrictions are effective from 6 am on November 12 to 6 am on November 15.
