NIT Srinagar Students Rally Against Alleged Blasphemous Post, Institute Ensures Swift Action


Hundreds of NIT Srinagar students protested in Srinagar, condemning an alleged blasphemous social media post against Prophet Muhammad by a fellow student.

The institute officials assured swift action, leading to the protests calming down, and police were notified to take legal measures.

The accused student, from Maharashtra, had reportedly left the campus following the controversy.

Inspector General of Police (IGP) Kashmir V K Birdi confirmed the institute’s request for legal action against the student, emphasizing the incident involved a video taken from YouTube.
