TRS welcomes repealing of Farm Laws; Credit goes to Maha Dharna & KCR fighting Spirit Claimed

Minister for Agriculture Singireddy Niranjan Reddy said Prime Minister Narendra Modi had finally understood the ground level situation in the country and apologized to the farmers as well as the people of the country for bringing out the contentious laws. 

Hyderabad: The ruling TRS leaders and ministers has welcomed the Prime Minister Narendra Modi government’s decision of repealing the three contentious Farm Laws and claimed that it is great victory of the TRS and expressed their happiness that TRS played its role with the recent protests where Chief Minister and TRS President K. Chandrashekhar Rao himself had participated in support of farmers in Telangana.

Minister for Agriculture Singireddy Niranjan Reddy said Prime Minister Narendra Modi had finally understood the ground level situation in the country and apologized to the farmers as well as the people of the country for bringing out the contentious laws. 

“The decision was long pending. Farmers’ agitation could have been avoided, if they had repealed the laws earlier. He also congratulated the farmers who continued their fight notwithstanding extreme weather conditions and other struggles.

He said in a democracy, the rulers cannot take anything for granted and people’s decision was the ultimate verdict. He was hopeful that the Union government would take into consideration the Maha Dharna and farmers’ protests organized by TRS in Telangana and deliver a decision on paddy procurement favorable to farmers in the State. 

He claimed that the Prime Minister is aware of our Chief Minister’s fighting spirit. He said that he is hopeful that the Centre will take a decision on paddy procurement before the farmers’ agitation intensifies in Telangana. 

TRS Working President and Minister for Municipal Administration and Urban Development, IT and Industries K. Tarak Rama Rao tweet a quote, stating that, “the power of people is always greater than the people in power. He said it has been proved once again by farmers who got what they demanded through their relentless agitation.

Minister for Energy G. Jagadish Reddy, Minister for Panchayat Raj Errabelli Dayakar Rao and other Ministers also welcome the Centre’s decision. They said that the Prime Minister made the statement because of fear of the KCR leadership towards farmers and also made it clear that the TRS fight would not stop and will continue till full justice is done to the farmers. 

Jagadish Reddy demanded that the Modi government should withdraw the power laws. However, they stated that TRS will continue its fight until the Union government agrees to procure paddy from the State. 

Finance Minister T. Harish Rao lauded the unrelenting fight by the farmers on the borders of Delhi notwithstanding all the difficulties for more than 15 months. He stated that the farmers fought against the bullets, lathis, water cannons, wire fences etc. He said it is a testament for the fact that people can achieve what they desire with perseverance and hard work, he added.
