Hyderabad: Students from Nizamia Unani Tibbi College Hyderabad staged a protest on Wednesday in solidarity with the students opposing ban on Hijab in educational institutions in Karnataka.
The silent protest was staged by the BUMS students at Nizamia Unani medical College at the foot of historic Charminar. They expressed their solidarity with those in Karnataka fighting for the right to wear Hijab.
The Unani students in hijab were holding national flag and placards. They condemned the attempts to target girl students in the neighbouring state.
It must be noted that their non-Muslim friends also participated in the protest saying that it is being tried to stop Muslim girls from getting education in the guise of hijab ban, which they strongly condemn.
Meanwhile, protest was also staged by the students of Anwarul Uloom College in support of Muslim students of Karnataka who are demanding their fundamental right to practice religion.
Qunoot-e-Nazila was also arranged in the city to pray for justice to the Muslim students of Karnataka who are denied their educational right and right to practice religion.
