Hyderabad: Hyderabad is feeling the chill as nighttime temperatures have fallen dramatically in the last three days. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) says this sudden weather change is due to dry northern winds blowing across the state.
According to data from the Telangana State Development Planning Society until 8:30 am on Wednesday, the coldest spot in the city was Serilingampally mandal.
Near the University of Hyderabad, the temperature dropped to a cold 13.4 degrees Celsius, making residents grab extra blankets and sweaters.
Moulali was close behind at 13.5 degrees Celsius, while the BHEL Factory reported a relatively warmer 14.2 degrees Celsius.
In the early morning, the city was covered in a mist, creating a peaceful winter scene. However, the rest of the day remained hot and humid.
The IMD predicts that Hyderabad will have more chilly nights for the next five days.
“Thursday will have mist in the morning, with maximum and minimum temperatures around 32 degrees Celsius and 18 degrees Celsius,” the forecast said.
The winds will mainly come from the north and northeast at speeds of 6-10 kmph, according to the forecast.
