Two accused were arrested in a Miyapur chain snatching case after police recovered a 10-gram gold chain and bike from the suspects targeting women.

Hyderabad: In a swift breakthrough in the Miyapur chain snatching case, police arrested two accused who allegedly snatched a gold chain from a woman walking on the road. The incident raised concerns over street safety in the area.

Incident Details

The victim, a 36-year-old homemaker from Ramayampet in Medak district, had come to Miyapur to meet her daughter who is studying in the city.

While she was walking, the accused allegedly:

  • Snatched her mangalsutra weighing around 10 grams
  • Escaped immediately from the spot

The victim later filed a complaint with Miyapur Police.

Police Investigation and Arrest

Using technical evidence and surveillance inputs, police identified and arrested the suspects.

The arrested accused were identified as:

  • Abhay Kumar Dubey (30)
  • Akash Kumar Rajak

Both are reportedly from Uttar Pradesh and Jharkhand and were working as food delivery agents in the city.

Modus Operandi

Investigators said the accused targeted:

  • Women walking alone
  • Isolated stretches of roads
  • Quick snatch-and-escape using a two-wheeler

Their pattern helped police trace their involvement in the crime.

Police recovered:

  • 10 grams gold ornament
  • One two-wheeler used in the crime

The accused were produced before the court and remanded to judicial custody.
