In a major crackdown on food adulteration, Hyderabad Police arrested two persons in Mailardevpally for manufacturing and selling adulterated food items in the city. The operation was conducted within the limits of Mailardevpally Police Station, where officials raided two locations involved in producing and distributing contaminated sweets.

The Mailardevpally adulterated food case was registered under Crime No. 242/2026 and Crime No. 243/2026, under Sections 125, 318(4), and 274 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS).
Police Raid Uncovers Adulterated Food Units
According to police officials, authorities received reliable information that adulterated food items were being prepared in Subhan Colony and Laxmiguda areas.
Acting swiftly, police teams conducted raids and discovered that the accused were manufacturing sweets using harmful and adulterated ingredients in unhygienic conditions, violating food safety regulations.
The adulterated food items were allegedly being supplied to local shops across Hyderabad.
Details of the Accused
Two individuals were arrested during the raid:
- Abdul Haque (54) – Resident of Subhan Colony and owner of Lucky Foods Company
- Mohammed Qameruddin (70) – Resident of Brundavan Colony, Laxmiguda and owner of M/s Zee Foods
Police said the accused were mixing chemicals and spoiled ingredients while preparing food products, which were later sold to shops in Hyderabad.
Adulterated Food Items Worth ₹1.10 Lakh Seized
During the raid, police seized a large quantity of adulterated food materials and chemicals used in the preparation of sweets.
Items seized during the operation:
- Expired Vanilla Powder Flavor
- 10 kg Sodium Benzodium
- Raspberry Red Color – 1 box
- Lemon Yellow Color – 1 box
- Motichoor Laddu – 98 boxes
- Loose Motichoor Laddu Material – 35 kg
The total value of seized adulterated food items and materials is estimated at ₹1,10,000.
Food Prepared in Unhygienic Conditions
Investigations revealed that the accused were preparing sweets in extremely unhygienic conditions without following any food safety regulations.
Police officials stated that the adulterated food products were made using chemicals and spoiled ingredients, posing a serious health risk to consumers.
Authorities warned that strict action will be taken against anyone involved in manufacturing or selling adulterated food items in Hyderabad.
Investigation Underway
The Mailardevpally Police registered cases and arrested the accused involved in the adulterated food racket. Further investigation is underway to identify shops and supply chains where these contaminated sweets were distributed.
Officials emphasized that crackdowns on food adulteration will continue to protect public health and ensure food safety in Hyderabad.
