The takeover follows proposals submitted by Hyderabad Metro Rail Limited, which will play a central role in managing the metro system after the acquisition.

The Telangana government has made the following key appointments:

  • K Ramakrishna Rao appointed as Chairman of the restructured Board
  • Sarfaraz Ahmad to take charge as Managing Director of L&TMRHL
  • Shivendra Pratap appointed as Joint Managing Director

These appointments signal direct administrative control at the highest level.

High-Level Committee to Oversee Metro Operations

A 10-member high-level committee has been formed under the Chief Secretary to oversee the functioning of Hyderabad Metro Rail under government control.
