Delhi LPG Row: Brahmpuri Muslims Allege Gas Agency Refused Cylinders Over Religious Identity

Muslim residents in Delhi’s Brahmpuri alleged religious discrimination by a local gas agency amid an LPG cylinder shortage and long delivery delays.

Residents in Brahmpuri have alleged that a local gas agency denied LPG cylinder supply to Muslims based on their religious identity amid an ongoing LPG shortage in the area. According to reports shared by Delhi Uptodate and Delhi Update, several residents claimed they were waiting for hours and even days after booking cylinders, while some accused the gas agency owner of refusing service to Muslim customers.

Residents also alleged that police complaints did not result in any effective action.

Residents Allege LPG Cylinders Being Denied to Muslims

According to local residents, the issue surfaced recently as Muslim families claimed they had been regularly receiving LPG cylinders until last month.

One resident alleged that the discrimination began only recently while the locality was already facing a shortage of LPG cylinders.

Another resident claimed the gas agency shop remained closed for two days.

Residents Claim Long Delays Despite Booking Cylinders

Several residents said they had been waiting for many days after booking LPG cylinders.

One resident alleged that his family had been struggling to receive a cylinder for the last 15 days despite making payment.

Another resident said customers were forced to make repeated visits to the gas agency daily.

Residents reportedly showed order confirmations and receipts while questioning the delay in cylinder delivery.

Residents Narrate Alleged Discrimination

One resident claimed:

“Roz ke chakkar lagre. Kal inke pitne tak bhi aa gayi thi toh inhone mere kaan mein bataya ki Musalmano ko yahan dene ko mana kar raha hai. Connection kai aur karalo.”

The resident alleged that someone privately informed him that the agency had been instructed not to provide cylinders to Muslims and advised him to shift the connection elsewhere.

Local Resident Appeals Against Religious Divide

During the dispute, another individual reportedly said:

“Arey Hindu yah Musalmaan, cylinder toh sabko chahiye na, hindu se kya lena dena ya musalmaan se kya lena dena. Sabko chahiye.”

The person said LPG cylinders are required by everyone regardless of religion.

Residents Say Elderly Women Waiting in Long Queues

Residents alleged that many people were forced to stand in long queues after leaving work.

One local resident claimed elderly women were also waiting outside the agency hoping to receive cylinders.

Residents questioned how families would manage daily life if the gas agency remained closed and cylinder supply disruptions continued.

Police Complaints Allegedly Yield No Result

According to local residents, complaints made to police authorities did not resolve the issue.

Residents alleged that the gas agency owner continued to avoid appearing personally or responding publicly regarding the ongoing crisis.

No official response from the gas agency owner or police authorities was mentioned in the press note.

The matter currently remains under public dispute, and allegations continue from local residents.
