Iran Demands End to Wars, Return of Frozen Assets and Maritime Protection in Talks With US

Iran has demanded an end to wars on all fronts, the release of frozen Iranian assets, and protection for Iranian ships during ongoing negotiations with the United States.

According to a report by an Iranian news agency, the message sent by the United States has reduced differences between both sides to some extent. However, the report said Washington must end threats of war to further reduce disagreements.

Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Esmaeil Baghaei said negotiations are being pursued with seriousness and goodwill, but with “solid logical doubts and suspicions.”

He stated that Iran wants:

• Release of frozen Iranian assets
• An end to maritime piracy against Iranian ships

Iran Rejects Speculation on Nuclear Matters

According to Esmaeil Baghaei, speculation regarding nuclear matters has no connection with reality.

He further stated that negotiations with the United States are focused on ending wars on all fronts, including Lebanon.

Baghaei added that authorized officials and spokespersons of the negotiating team would provide details of the discussions.

Donald Trump Comments on Iran Talks

Earlier, US President Donald Trump said negotiations with Iran are continuing.

Trump stated that the United States only wants to ensure that Iran does not possess nuclear weapons. He also said the US would take control of Iran’s stockpile of highly enriched uranium.

The ongoing negotiations between Iran and the United States remain focused on ending conflicts on all fronts, securing the release of frozen Iranian assets, and ensuring maritime protection for Iranian ships.
