Man Drowns in Sitaram Bagh Well in Mangalhat; Body Recovered After 6-Hour Search Led by AIMIM Leader Zafar Khan: Video

Deepak, a resident of Mangar Basti in Mallepally, drowned in a well at Sitaram Bagh under Mangalhat Police Station limits. His body was recovered after a six-hour search operation involving AIMIM ex-Corporator Zafar Khan, police, and DRF teams.

A man identified as Deepak, a resident of Mangar Basti in Mallepally, drowned after falling into a well at Sitaram Bagh under the Mangalhat Police Station limits in Hyderabad. Following nearly six hours of continuous search efforts involving AIMIM former Corporator Zafar Khan, police personnel, and Disaster Response Force (DRF) teams, Deepak’s body was recovered and shifted to Osmania General Hospital for postmortem examination.

The incident reportedly took place on the day of Bakrid when rescue teams and local residents were engaged in efforts to locate the victim in the deep water-filled well.

Zafar Khan Reaches Spot and Joins Search Operation

According to information available from the scene, AIMIM ex-Corporator Zafar Khan rushed to the location immediately after receiving information that Deepak had fallen into the well.

Videos circulating on social media reportedly show Zafar Khan entering the well himself and beginning the search operation without waiting for police or other rescue teams to arrive.

Witnesses said that he remained actively involved in the rescue efforts for nearly six hours, repeatedly entering the water while coordinating with police personnel and DRF teams in an attempt to locate Deepak.

Rescue Teams Faced Difficulty Due to Deep Water

The search operation reportedly continued throughout the day as rescuers struggled to locate the victim due to the depth of the water inside the well.

To assist the search efforts, a motor pump was later installed to reduce the water level in the well. Officials and rescuers reportedly faced significant challenges because the water was very deep, making the operation difficult.

After continuous efforts lasting nearly six hours, the search teams finally located Deepak’s body trapped at a spot inside the well.

Body Shifted to Osmania General Hospital

Once the body was recovered from the well, it was immediately shifted to Osmania General Hospital for postmortem examination.

The current status of the case is that the body has been recovered and sent for postmortem. No further official details regarding the circumstances of the drowning were immediately available.

Locals Praise Zafar Khan’s Efforts

People present at the scene stated that Deepak’s body was recovered due to the courage, determination, and continuous efforts of Zafar Khan and others involved in the operation.

Residents said that while many people were celebrating Bakrid, Zafar Khan spent the day participating in the search operation alongside police personnel and DRF teams until the victim’s body was found.
