Advocate Khaja Moizuddin Murder Case: Mujahid Alam Khan, Mahaboob Alam Khan Among 7 Held in Rs 15 Lakh Contract Killing

Hyderabad Police arrest key accused in the murder of Advocate Khaja Moizuddin. Investigation reveals an alleged Rs 15 lakh contract killing linked to long-standing Waqf property disputes.

Hyderabad City Police have arrested several accused persons involved in the murder of Advocate Khaja Moizuddin, who was allegedly killed in a pre-planned contract killing near his residence in Masab Tank, Hyderabad. The case was registered at Nampally Police Station under Khairatabad Zone after the advocate was intentionally hit by a Mahindra Scorpio vehicle on May 23, 2026.

Police investigation revealed that the murder was allegedly carried out as part of a criminal conspiracy linked to long-standing disputes over Waqf properties and management issues in Malakpet and Lakdikapul, Hyderabad. Several accused have been arrested, while efforts are continuing to apprehend the remaining absconding accused.

How the Incident Occurred

According to the complaint lodged by M.S. Farhan, son of Advocate Khaja Moizuddin and a resident of Masab Tank, Hyderabad, the incident took place on May 23, 2026.

At about 05:45 AM, Advocate Khaja Moizuddin left his residence as part of his daily routine to go swimming. While he was proceeding towards his vehicle parked in front of his residence, an unidentified four-wheeler allegedly came at high speed and intentionally rammed into him.

The impact threw him nearly 10 meters away, causing grievous injuries.

He was immediately shifted to Mahaveer Hospital and later referred to UDAI Omni Hospital, Abids, Hyderabad, where he succumbed to injuries during treatment.

At about 08:30 hours on the same day, his son M.S. Farhan submitted a complaint to Nampally Police Station.

Initially, police registered Crime No. 206/2026 under Sections 109(1), 281, 61(2)(a) read with 3(5) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS). Following the victim’s death, the case was altered to Sections 103(1), 61(2)(a) read with 3(5) BNS.

CCTV Footage Revealed Deliberate Murder

During investigation, CCTV footage allegedly showed a green-coloured Mahindra Scorpio vehicle without number plates waiting near the residence of Advocate Khaja Moizuddin.

Police stated that the vehicle deliberately hit the advocate when he was getting into his vehicle and fled the scene immediately after the attack.

Investigators traced the accused after examining CCTV footage collected from Panchavati Lodge, Secunderabad, and Mehfil Hotel, Narayanguda.

Waqf Property Disputes Allegedly Behind Murder

Police investigation revealed that long-standing disputes existed between the family of accused Mujahid Alam Khan and deceased Advocate Khaja Moizuddin regarding Waqf properties and management issues in Malakpet and Lakdikapul, Hyderabad.

According to police, several civil, criminal and Waqf Tribunal cases have been pending between both groups for many years.

Investigators stated that the accused allegedly believed that because of the advocate’s active role in legal proceedings against them, they were facing continuous legal setbacks and humiliation.

Police allege that due to this grudge, accused Mujahid Alam Khan and Mahmood Alam Khan conspired to eliminate Advocate Khaja Moizuddin.

Rs 15 Lakh Contract Killing Allegedly Planned

Police said the conspiracy was allegedly hatched by accused Mujahid Alam Khan alias Baba and his father Mahaboob Alam Khan along with associates.

According to investigators, the murder was planned for a contract amount of Rs 15,00,000.

Police stated that Mujahid Alam Khan and Mahaboob Alam Khan allegedly conspired with Hassan Ali alias Chaous and Muneer to execute the plan through Kishan alias Pappu.

Muneer and Hassan Ali alias Chaous allegedly coordinated the operation by providing cash to Kishan for logistics.

Kishan allegedly recruited Vinay, who then brought in Abhijeeth through Vikram to execute the murder plan.

Investigators further alleged that Mujahid Alam Khan arranged Rs 2,00,000 through Hassan Ali alias Chaous for procurement of a Scorpio vehicle used in the crime.

Months of Surveillance Before the Murder

Police said that from January 2026 onwards, accused Kishan alias Pappu, Vinay, Abhijeeth alias Nani, Vikram alias Chintu and Deen Dayal conducted surveillance around the residence of the deceased and other places frequently visited by him.

The accused allegedly monitored the advocate’s movements to identify the most suitable opportunity for carrying out the attack.

On May 23, 2026, the accused allegedly used the Scorpio vehicle to deliberately hit Advocate Khaja Moizuddin when he came out of his residence, causing injuries that later resulted in his death.

Arrests and Recoveries

Based on technical evidence, Hyderabad Police traced accused Kishan alias Pappu to Panipat, Haryana.

A special police team proceeded to Panipat and apprehended him on May 27, 2026.

According to police, during interrogation he allegedly confessed details regarding the conspiracy, vehicle procurement, surveillance activities and execution of the murder.

He also allegedly disclosed that accused Mujahid Alam Khan had entrusted him with the task of eliminating the advocate and had provided Rs 2,00,000 for vehicle procurement.

Following his interrogation, special teams were formed to apprehend other accused persons.

On May 29, 2026:

  • Accused No.1 Mujahid Alam Khan was arrested at his Jubilee Hills residence.
  • Accused No.2 Mahaboob Alam Khan was arrested at his residence.
  • Accused No.4 Abhijeeth alias Nani was arrested near MGBS, Gowliguda.
  • Accused No.5 Dighan Vinay was arrested near MGBS, Gowliguda.
  • Accused No.8 Vikram Aditya alias Chintu was arrested near MGBS, Gowliguda.
  • Accused No.10 Manideep alias Pogo Nani was arrested near MGBS, Gowliguda.

Seizures Made by Police

Police seized:

  • Scorpio vehicle used in the offence
  • Total cash of Rs 10,10,000
  • Multiple mobile phones

Specific recoveries include:

  • Mujahid Alam Khan: One mobile phone
  • Abhijeeth alias Nani: Rs 2,80,000 cash and one mobile phone
  • Dighan Vinay: Scorpio vehicle, Rs 4,50,000 cash and one mobile phone
  • Vikram Aditya alias Chintu: Rs 1,00,000 cash and one mobile phone
  • Manideep alias Pogo Nani: Rs 12,000 cash and one mobile phone

Police stated that Dighan Vinay and Vikram Aditya alias Chintu are also involved in previous criminal cases.

Investigation Continues

Police stated that further investigation is underway to apprehend the remaining absconding accused and collect additional technical and documentary evidence related to the alleged conspiracy.

The arrests were made by P. Praveen Kumar, Assistant Commissioner of Police, Abids Division, Hyderabad, with the assistance of CH Saidulu, Inspector of Police, Nampally Police Station, M.A. Adil Riyaz Khan, Sub-Inspector of Police, Nampally Police Station, and other staff members under the supervision of senior officers of Hyderabad City Police.
