KTR Hits Back at Pawan Kalyan Over Telangana Remarks, Says State Belongs to Its People

KTR strongly criticized Pawan Kalyan over his remarks on Telangana, saying the state belongs to its people. Speaking in Hyderabad, KTR defended Telangana’s formation, questioned controversial statements, and alleged industries allocated to Telangana were being shifted elsewhere.

Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) Working President K. T. Rama Rao launched a sharp attack on Pawan Kalyan over his remarks concerning Telangana and regional politics. Addressing a press conference in Hyderabad, KTR said Telangana belongs to its people and does not need lessons in patriotism from anyone.

Speaking at the “Meet the Press” programme held at the Social Media Press Club on the occasion of the completion of 12 years of Telangana’s formation, KTR said the state was achieved after decades of struggle and sacrifice. He stated that political leaders should be sensitive while speaking about the sentiments of Telangana’s people.

KTR Says Telangana Was Achieved Through Sacrifice

KTR said Telangana was won after years of struggle and sacrifices.

He stated, “Telangana belongs to the sons of this soil. It is a land achieved through sacrifices and martyrdom.”

Referring to the controversy surrounding Pawan Kalyan’s proposed public rally in Telangana, KTR clarified that the BRS had never opposed the Jana Sena Party contesting elections in the state.

He said, “Any citizen of the country can contest elections from anywhere. Pawan Kalyan contested elections in 2018 and again in 2023. Nobody stopped him.”

Questions Raised Over Telangana Formation Day Rally

KTR, however, questioned the decision to hold a public meeting on Telangana Formation Day while simultaneously making controversial remarks about the state’s bifurcation.

He referred to Pawan Kalyan’s earlier statements in which he allegedly said that after the formation of Telangana, he could not eat food for 11 days. KTR also criticized remarks that reportedly compared regionalism with terrorism.

Questioning those comments, KTR asked, “Potti Sriramulu fought for separating Andhra from Madras. Was that also regionalism?”

Allegation Over Industries Being Shifted

The former minister further alleged that industries allocated to Telangana were being shifted elsewhere in the name of nationalism.

He questioned whether such “economic regionalism” could be justified and expressed concern over the alleged transfer of industries meant for Telangana to other locations.

The latest war of words between KTR and Pawan Kalyan has intensified the political debate over Telangana identity and regional politics. Speaking at the Social Media Press Club in Hyderabad during Telangana’s 12th Formation Day celebrations, KTR said Telangana belongs to its people, defended the state’s struggle for existence, criticized Pawan Kalyan’s past remarks on Telangana, and alleged that industries meant for the state were being shifted elsewhere. No legal action or official proceedings were reported, and the political exchange remains ongoing.
